In 2026 SJSA Winter Schools Competition is set for a shake up!
The first round begins on Saturday 2 May 2026 and will consist of 16 rounds. See below for more information about each age group and the 2026 season.
SASA has identified the following teams initially. Additional teams will be added if there is sufficient demand and parent/guardian volunteer registrations.
Final teams will be dependent on player numbers and volunteers registered to coach and manage teams.

Registration Fees
- SJSA Competition Fee: $105
- SASA Fee: $53
Total cost: $158 per player
If you have a GetActive voucher to redeem, please let us know so we can make sure it is successfully redeemed in full with SJSA.
Registration Closing Date
Registrations close on 22 March 2026 have been extended and will remain open until 2 April 2026.
Please do not wait to register - the earlier teams can be confirmed with SJSA the better.
Please reach out via email for exceptional circumstances. We want to make sure every child gets an opportunity to play!
Late Registrations
Late registrations may be accepted if places remain available in teams.
However:
- Team placement cannot be guaranteed.
- The registration fee remains unchanged.
Important Registration Note
During registration you will be asked to select a sock size.
This is currently required by the PlayHQ registration form even if you are not purchasing socks.

FootballHQ
With the move to PlayHQ, SJSA will be keeping all the important details of the competition updated in the FootballHQ app.
Registration, fixtures, live game updates, team management and communication can all be managed on the app.

Competition games are run by SJSA.

12 September 2026 (for U12 and above competitions)
U10 competition is planned to have a gala day. Date TBA by SJSA.
Training
Training will be held after school at St Anne's College
Training days and times will be confirmed once teams are finalised.
Uniform & Equipment
Provided by SASA
- Team jersey
- Team shorts
Preferred sizes are selected during registration. Uniform is to be returned at the end of the season.
Uniform collection and pre-season catch up will be held on Thursday, 23 April 2026. More details will be sent out once teams, coaches and team managers are confirmed. We will also hold a boot swap for anyone looking to donate or swap old boots that no longer fit bit still have plenty of life!
Socks
- $15 per pair
- Only required if players do not already have SASA socks
- Socks from previous seasons can be reused
Required Equipment (Provided by Families)
Players must have:
- Football boots
- Shin guards (mandatory)
Donated Boots
SASA has a small collection of donated boots available.
These will be provided on a first-come basis for families who need them.
Volunteers
Each team requires parent or guardian volunteers to fill two key roles:
- Coach
- Team Manager
All volunteers must:
- Have a Working With Children Check
- Register in PlayHQ
Teams cannot operate without volunteer support.
Coach
Leads training sessions and supports the team during matches.
Team Manager
Coordinates communication with families and assists with team organisation.
Duty Day Volunteers
During the season, SASA will be allocated Duty Days which will be based on the number of teams in the competition. This is usually 2-3 days per season. It is the expectation that families are prepared to fill roles allocated if they have one or more children participating.
No prior experience is necessary. SJSA will provide instruction to volunteers on the day.

- Ground pack up
- Canteen and BBQ duties
